VOLKANOSTRATIGRAFI DAN PETROGENESIS BATUAN VULKANIK GUNUNG KATON BERDASARKAN ANALISIS PETROLOGI

Abstract
Gunung Katon adalah salah satu gunungapi kuarter di Provinsi Lampung, tepatnya berlokasi di Kabupaten Lampung Utara. Secara geologi regional Gunung Katon termasuk ke dalam Satuan Breksi Gunungapi Tuf (Qhv). Belum adanya penelitian geologi di Gunung Katon dan belum adanya penelitian aspek petrologi mendasari penelitian ini, yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis batuan di lokasi penelitian, menyusun stratigrafi batuan Gunung Katon secara volkanostratigrafi dan mengetahui petrogenesis menggunakan metode petrologi dengan melihat tekstur mineral dan perhitungan plagioklas menggunakan metode Michel Levy. Sebanyak 12 sampel batuan dianalisis menggunakan metode petrografi dan 9 sampel petrografi digunakan untuk perhitungan plagioklas. Dari hasil observasi lapangan batuan di lokasi penelitian didominasi oleh lava andesit dan terdapat breksi lahar, komposisi mineral plagioklas, piroksen, hornblenda dengan masa dasar mikrolit plagioklas, dari hasil analisis perhitungan plagioklas dan analisis tekstur mineral evolusi magma di Gunung Katon terdapat proses fraksinasi kristal dan pencampuran magma.
