STUDI PETROGRAFI DAN DISTRIBUSI UKURAN KRISTAL (CRISTAL-SIZE DISTRIBUTION; CSD) PLAGIOKLAS PADA LAVA GUNUNG BATUR TAHUN 1904-1974

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan pada kawasan Kaldera Batur yang merupakan Taman Bumi Global Geopark UNESCO, berada di kecamatan Kintamani, kabupaten Bangli, provinsi Bali. Pada kawasan penelitian pada objek yang sama telah dilakukan studi mengenai petrogenesa batuan, akan tetapi belum pernah dilakukan studi mengenai dinamika magma pembentuk lava pada daerah penelitian khususnya melalui analisis distribusi ukuran kristal. Lava Batur memiliki mineralogi plagioklas, olivin, klinopiroksen, mineral opak, dan massa gelas. Terdapat fitur mikroskopik yang sama pada semua sampel berupa tekstur mikro plagioklas, yaitu zoning dan sieve. Proses magmatisme yang mempengaruhi pembentukan lava Gunung Batur adalah magma mixing, hal tersebut didukung dari hasil analisis petrografi dan distribusi ukuran kristal, dan juga oleh hasil perhitungan waktu simpan magma.
